why are you running 6 plugs? Do you have a very large house?

You only need 1 homeplug per room in your house, if you have multiple devices in the room you hook the homeplug up to a cheap ethernet switch (approx 10) and run all the devices off that.

The home plug route is definitely one to go down. It's both cheaper than buying a dedicated wireless dongle and usually also offers better bandwidth (depending on your home wiring). You can then (as Adrian notes) use a cheap switch to split the signal from a single plug to multiple devices in the same location.

I got a NEWLink 5 Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch from Amazon, which you can get for under a tenner with free delivery.

Just a point to remember if you are adding to an existing network, all Homeplugs are not compatible with one and other. Make sure what you buy is compatible with what you have.

Bear in mind that the speeds advertised are poorly explained. They are calling it 200Mb/s but its actually upto 100Mb/s each way, also known as 100Mb/s full duplex.

I've got some Devolo 200Mb/s ones (4 of I think) and they have been great.
There is no p in Thomson.
