Re: Cheap home plug kit 34.98inc. vat

Only just found out about anytime+ - not going to pay Sky another 60 so will get a pair of homeplugs - just a question (i'm hopeless at this type of thing) I know that the skyhd box will connect via an ethernet cable with the only ethernet socket - but what ethernet connection should I use on the sky router (the green one, the blue one or one of the two yellow ones)?

      Thanks

Any port will work, but the kind of traffic that you can expect from the Sky STB is prioritised if you use the green port. This should mean that it will work a little better.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

You also have the advantage in the fact that Homeplugs are much more reliable than wireless as well as saving yourself a few quid.

Win7 will not actually see the adapters it will see through them, as they are simply an extension of the ethernet connection. Provided one end is connected to the router and the other to a network card, they should work with any OS. Do you have another PC/Laptop to try them on?

No its ok it works on W7 if you use netgear software..
W7 does see them...via netgear utility.
