A bit off topic, but has anyone tried the MSN Video player on Win 7 Media Centre. Mostly old stuff, but lots of it and but it works far better than Sky Player and does not keep telling you you are using an unregistered PC. 36 episodes of Dr Who for those that don't remember William Hartnel and 22 episodes of Andromeda for those that never got enough of Lexa Doig. Plus lots of other goodies.

If that is the case why comment?

I'd rather have good broadband than this service,

I would rather have both and intend to have both when i move to Sky, i get 14Mbps with my current ISP I doubt it will be less when i move.

and in a lot of cases the connections will be too slow to provide it properly.
If as I have read they use IPlayer and Kontiki I doubt anyone will have problems, I've used Iplayer and Kontiki in the early days of BBC IPlayer and it worked flawlessly.

Incidentally, my BB service with BE is 2Mbps faster than Sky's (was).
Thanks for the info, to be honest i couldn't give a hoot.

      A) Because you asserted that "a lot of customers will be unhappy about this", with no evidence whatsoever, and.....

      B) Because I have as much right as you have to make a comment.

Based on the fact that the average broadband speed in the UK is 3500kbps (Ofcom stats), then it's fairly obvious that many won't be able to get the service at all, even if they are with Sky BB. And, of course, there's the 10's of 1000's who can't get Sky LLU because their exchanges have not been enabled.

You said you are not a customer so couldn't give a hoot, yet you still comment, how strange.
I still think customers who are not on Bky BB will be annoyed if they are forced to switch so they can use Anytime+.
I have read they are going to let customers of other ISP's use the service at a later date.

Not as strange as your apparent inability to read

I was a Sky BB customer until Sky brought in their stupid DLM system, and (like so many others) saw my connection speed go down the pan. Lots of Sky customers are on the 2GB/mo allowance service, and I can't see them viewing many movies with that. As for Sky letting customers of other ISPs use their service, I'm sure that will come at a price, because Sky give you nothing for free.

It is a possiblilty now Sky have moved from OpenTV to a Linux based system. OpenTV 1.3 was severely lacking as far as internet connectivity went and was only supported via an optional "add-on".
