So that is two pictures using 1080i (half each) so not 2 x 1080i pictures side by side.

I don't know if anyone else caught the 3D tests by Sky before the 3D channel started, but you were able to watch them on an ordinary TV, and the pictures were 2 frames, side by side.

Stay with SD as both HD and 3D not worth it. Waste of money

Surely this is a matter of personally choice?

Many people are enjoying the current systems for projecting 3D movies and documentaries.

As for HD, I'm sorry but the picture quality is much nicer than SD.

Perhaps we should ask the BBC to start broadcasting in Black & White at 405lines, with all the fuzzy images?

Yes, they do. But 3D has been with us for more than 80 years. It failed in the 1930's - it failed in the 1950's. Will it fail in the 2010's ?

      Re: 3D or HD?

Well I have had 3D and while it is good; It made family film night fresh again! I just don't think it is worth the additional outlay at the moment.
The 3d Samsung tv was so good though, it really was a distinct move up in picture quality. Just subscribed for myself though now and I didn't even consider 3d as it would mean a new TV and my Sharp Aquos will do me for a while yet.

      Re: 3D or HD?

Another vote for HD over 3D here. Until they come up with full size 3D screens that don't need you to wear glasses, 3D isn't something I'd consider here.

The thing with HD is that after you have been watching it for a while, you get used to it. It's not until you flick over to a SD channel and only then notice how fuzzy SD channels actually are.

Personally I'd really like to see holographic TV.

P.S. I know you guys would love to see a new Laracroft movie released to help it
