      Hi Steele11.

Unfortunately that's not normally a good sign.
Sky's DLM line training software aims to use a target downstream noise margin of 6db (or occasionally 3db) unless there's a problem somewhere, in which case it will reduce speed so that the margin is higher.
However, a high noise margin can sometimes be the result of a line improvement.

Your WAN uptime shows that there was a disconnection around 7:30pm yesterday, yet 3266kbps isn't too bad for a 57.5db attenuation line.

Have the speed figures dropped at all or is it just the margin that has changed?
Also, is the margin stable or fluctuating a lot?

Yesterday one of my neighbours was getting some work done in the poll up the ladder I seen a BT engineer up the poll yesterday morning but I never checked my broadband yesterday as is no point asking a BT engineer I'm not touching Yours they would tell me lol

It's not uncommon for the margin to constantly fluctuate by up to about 0.3db.
To do so by a whole 1db in the space of a few seconds though would indicate that the line is at least a little unstable.

      Have you lost any speed?
If not, it might be worth rebooting the router in case the bt chap has made an improvement.
If so, it's still worth doing in case DLM has stepped in based on the disruption the bt chap caused.

If your line isn't capped near to 3266kbps & the profile is significantly higher, a reboot should push the speed up using a noise margin much closer to the 6db target.
This may also highlight any instability, making it more obvious to see.

I would be inclined to have a friendly chat with the neighbour and ask what their issue was and what the BTO Engineer reportedly did.

It is very possible that he accidentally affected your connection in the process of repairing the neighbours and didn't do anything to check that this hadn't been the case.

Yes you Line Attenuation is high, but looking at a recent post I can see that your connection speed has been reduced.

Once you've found out what was done, give Sky a friendly call and see how soon you can get another BTO Engineer out.

Did the lady at Sky do anything to reset your connection or was this from switching the router on/off?

If someone has been playing with the connections at the top of the pole and this has affected your connection, ask them to see if the are and CRC errors showing on the line. If there are, I would politely ask if it is possible to send another BTO Engineer out as it looks like he has affected things, even if the speed above is higher than you had before.

If points to the possibility that there are some poor contacts which need replacing on the pole.

Ok, sometimes a pole can be used to supply 10 or so homes. I was hoping that you knew which it was on this occasion.
