      Hi guys and girls

Silly question time. My broadband max went live today and could someone esplain why i am seeing such a difference in the following :-

Speed tester shows upload of just under 2 meg with 348 upload but the router shows (sagam)

      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023c.d20e
      Modem Status Up
      DownStream Connection Speed 4352
      UpStream Connection Speed 768
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

Hows comes there is such a difference ?

I am plugged into the test socket at present so why such a big differnce ??

      Cheers in advance

      Re: Router stats Vs speedtester.net

more info which is getting weirder lol

Right, I have now put everything back and have the sagam plugged into both laptop and home pc

      PC
      2678 down
      613 up

      LAPTOP

      1706 down
      450 up

      This is the confusing bit.

You have seen my spec of my laptop in the above post.

      My pc - is a 486 P3 with 512 ram 550 processor running win 98 !!!

So why is an old pc with low memory/ram/processor get nearly a meg quicker on down load when they are both plugged into the router with decent cat 5 cables ????

      Answers on a postcard please
