128kbps .... wooooo
Well after two weeks of being fobbed off by sky my connection has been activated at the blinding speeds of 128kbps. Now at a guess the line is capped at somepoint as i knew people who live a few streets away that are also on sky broadband and further from the exchange but get 5/6mbps connections. Before i try and speak to the holy grail that is tier 3 (15min wait time but can only be on hold for 2mins before getting added to the back of the queue, go work that one out) just wondering if anyone could shed a little light on what the problem might be. Anyway stats are as follows.

Re: 128kbps .... wooooo
Try pluging your router into the test socket, behind the faceplate of the master socket. Then repost your stats. It could be an internal wiring issue!
Also, not sure about this but Mid is on LLU is it not? And therefore shouldnt he be on ADSL2+?Connected @ 13mbit on SkyMAX

Re: 128kbps .... wooooo
Yes you've been very heavily capped but despite this and the resultant extremely high noise margin your connection is still generating a fairly high level of errors.
As edwardw says you have a line problem, most likely your internal home phone wiring. Are you using an extension to connect your router? Until you sort this out there is no point in contacting Sky. If you were uncapped with your present line condition it would be practically unusable. See the cabling and faceplate help forum for info on identifying and curing line problems.
@edwardw
I don't know what Sky's official policy is but the rule of thumb they seem to apply is that if the line is capable of connecting at >8000kbps (on Max) they use ADSL2+ otherwise they use G.DMT. They also tend to use G.DMT on problem lines as it handles line noise rather better than ADSL2+. Munk is on G.DMT for both those reasons.

Re: 128kbps .... wooooo
as said in original post, he had issues connecting which is when tier 3 would've put the line to 'test speed' to try and get a connection
now there is one just cal tech and say ur line is only syncing at 128 and u need it uncapped and t3 will lift the cap (to what appears to be a stable connection - of course, we can set a line up to 16MB/ADSL2+ but if we do so on EU request and against our judgement then we usually say 'fine, but don't complain if it goes belly up!!!')
