      Re: Are these stats ok?

He's on G.DMT and possibly capped too.

There's clearly a problem with his line/connection as with an attenuation of only 27db, were the line relatively noise free, a (capped) connection speed of ~6000kbps would give a much higher noise margin than 7.5db (27db would normally give a connection speed of ~16000kbps for a noise margin of 7.5db).

What are the stats like with the test socket?

      Re: Are these stats ok?

      Hi

On the first set of stats the speed was

      Max(Kbps): 6784 992
      Rate (Kbps): 6112 768

On the second set of stats the speed was

      Max(Kbps): 9152 1024
      Rate (Kbps): 8096 768

So you have gained nearly 2.5mb - I would say you have a wiring problem, if you can sort this you should be able to convince Sky to uncap you.

      thankyou for your help

      Re: Are these stats ok?

Not a huge amount of traffic to go by but your error levels for that small sample are quite low. Bear in mind though that if/when uncapped, your error level is likely to rise.

Were you uncapped and on ADSL2+ and your errors stay low then you could expect a connection speed, as I said earlier, of ~16000kbps.

To get uncapped and your mode changed you'll have to get past T1/T2 and ask T3.
