Is it worth getting a new Router??
Ok I wont go into the issues I have had they are all there in other threads. Things have settled down a bit for me now, but I still getting occasional drops of connection, can run ok for a week then only for a day. etc etc. Its more of a niggle than anything usually can clear by reboot of router.
My question is have many people seen much benefit from ditching the netgear in favour of a different make of router?? I would like your opinions before I shell out any money.

Form reports in this section of the forum it would suggest that using your own router does make things better.

Re: Is it worth getting a new Router??
It's a truism to say that people with Sky router problems swear by their replacement (unsurprisingly). People that don't have problems with their Sky router you never hear from. So, to answer your question, there's insufficient evidence to say that non-Sky routers are generally "better", because of a biased population sample. All I can say is to try:
1. A different router; or,
2. This: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...matically.html
Re: Is it worth getting a new Router??
After battling to get into the setup's on a BT Home Hub that that my brother aquired the other night and failing miserably I went out and brought a cheap Dynomode router the day before yesterday. I got it because my mate is using one on Orange and has had no problems since we installed it in November.
Well so far no drop outs! It's early days yet I wont hold my breath, but so far so good I will keep you posted as time goe's on.
