New broadband connection - Router Reboots
HI all,
I'm new to Sky Broadband (activated on Tuseday). I have noticed my connection being reset a couple of times both in the middle of the night, which I guess is to be expected whilst the line is in training.
But I have also noticed that the uptime of the router (new Sky Hub SR-102) is only 3 hours this morning which suggests that the router is rebooting, which is more of a surprise. I don't think there was a powercut, as the phone usually asks for the clock to be reset after a power loss, so I'm thinking that the router is restarting itself.
My question is is it normal for the hub to reboot itself during training?
Re: New broadband connection - Router Reboots
If the system uptime has reset to zero it's very likely that the router received a firmware update.
The current version for the sr102 is 2.1r.3727.r & was released in june, so new routers are unlikely to have it preinstalled.
This shouldn't happen again but the WAN uptime will reset with each resync that DLM line training performs.
Re: New broadband connection - Router Reboots
Ahh that makes sense the router is now on 2.1r.3727.r.
I was expecting some connection resets, but an apparent reboot of the hub was more concerning, but a F/W update would expain it.
