Re: Have I made the right choice?
There are a raft of apps I could recommend. Here are a handful of the ones I have:
- I prefer Forum Runner myself to Tapatalk, but have both installed
- Check out the Skype app too - rotate your phone, swap cameras
- VPlayer is good for streaming locally stored video content. I find that Skifta is good for allowing you to stream you DLNA content to the phone whilst you are away from home, but you need a Fibre connection in order to stream Video content
- Currently Zeebox is the only app to allow you to change the channel on your Sky+ HD STBs. Careful though, you can change multiple boxes at the same time
- I prefer Winamp for the music
- Camera ICS+ is excellent too
- Do search for apps to control your TV too, if it supports this
Also the live wallpapers are nice. I've set up the weather one on mine.
Do have fun though!

Well I have been using it for 24 hours or so and it has grown on me
Still not 100% convinced yet though but it is certainly better than an iPhone 3gs and huge compared

Re: Have I made the right choice?
The build on the S3 feels like Samsung laminated some crisp bags together, I found the screen underwhelming as well.
Id like an iPhone 5 running Jelly Bean :D
Nexus 4 for me when stocks become plentiful and Google inevitably release a 32GB one.

One more thing, dump that heap of excrement Samsung call touchwiz and put a decent launcher on :) go launcher ex is fully free without limitations. Don't worry if you don't like it, if you uninstall it your phone will just look like it did before :) one thing I like it's you can set how many icons or widgets you have on the screen
Re: Have I made the right choice?
Well the phone is being changed tomorrow to a new one as the mains charger is broken
Rang orange before and they say it will be here tomorrow morning. Spot on service that.

Re: Have I made the right choice?
Surely it would have been better to just replace the charger?
You may wish to use Samsung Kies to backup everything on the phone though. You should then be able to restore all your settings, etc., to the replacement.
Re: Have I made the right choice?
Because it is only 10 days old they prefer to swap the lot
Not really that bothered tbh I think it's great service
Just looking at kies now will sort in a bit

Re: Have I made the right choice?
Have you made the right choice? Each to their own but I would say no!
Funnily enough I ordered upgrades last night from T Mobile (same company as Orange these days) for the Wife and I, she had an iPhone 4 and me an S2 previously, but we now have a pair of iPhone 5's on the way.
I've had the benefit of a direct comparison between iOS and Android and for me/us, iOS is a far more gratifying user experience. My S2 is bigger and apparently more powerful than her iPhone 4 yet her phone performs faster, is more stable and simply nicer to use IMHO.
My S2 is only around 12 months old and despite being cased shows signs of wear and tear, the iPhone 4 is 2 years old, has also been cased and looks immaculate. For me, the Apple product is significantly more expensive for good reason, it's just better built, end of.
In terms of upgrade cost I was happy to pay for both phones to keep the monthly cost down, so I have paid £109 each for the phones with a £36 per month "Full Monty" tariff. However, I can recycle both of the old phones via RPC and get £260 back, so it was a no brainer.
In hindsight, I wish I had never bought the Samsung and have been dying to get rid of it ever since it arrived. Oh and Kies is the single most useless piece of software I have ever had the misfortune of using and caused untold problems on my laptop.
