Sky Player Buffering
Hi
I signed up to Sky to get a flexible deal on the (very expensive) sports package.
I have a >6Mbps (measured) BT broadband connection and wireless router.
I have used two PCs to watch football:
1. Asus EeePC [Intel Atom 1.6GHz 1Gb RAM Win XP SP 3], connected to my TV, running SkyPlayer software
2. Custom PC [Intel Dual Core 2.8GHz 2Gb RAM Win XP SP3], watching via IE browser connected to standard LCD monitor.
When watching on (1), I frequently get Sky Player "buffering" messages and distorted picture. This happens on low, medium and high quality settings. The same happens on (2), but slightly less often.
Does anyone have any tips on the kind of power a PC requires to stream a whole live footbal match, or any settings I can tweak in the PC???
Thanks muchly for any help!

Re: Sky Player Buffering
How are both PCs connected to the Router?
My folks had a similar problem and connecting the router to the TEST socket underneath the master socket helped as there were too many errors on the line to cope with streaming video.

Re: Sky Player Buffering
hi
the pc's are both wi-fi, so maybe the errors in that do have something to do with it. I'll try an ethernet connection with the router and see if it helps.
Thanks :)
