New viewing cards to be issued

Read this in the latest Sky mag. So why are they doing this?.

It's a standard thing they do every few years to combat rouge cards that are out there.

Any idea if another card i have (actually my bro's old one - he adopted sky HD), will still work afterwards? - i just use that on a 2nd sky box (standard), to pick up the free stuff.

Probably not.

Possibly one of the reasons why they do a new card roll out to catch any cards that are still in use and shouldn't be and make people take up a subscription.

I assume that a lot of folks in Europe will be suddenly turned off?
