Looking for connection diagram for all my junk!!
Hi folks,
A newbie, non-technical guy, needs a little help in connecting my equipment, a diagram would be most helpful :( I have the following items I would like to connect but don't know where to start:
1 LG TV with 2 scarts
1 STD Sky Set top Box with 2 scarts
1 LG HDD DVD Recorder with 2 scarts
1 Panasonic Video Recorder with 2 scarts
Please show me ( with a diagram, if possible ) how to connect these as it is doing my head in!!
Many thanks

Boy that was a quick reply!! Yes I still use it sometimes. Mostly for old videos I have of the family. Haven't got round to copying to DVD yet. Too many of them. Thanks for the advise but what about the RF cables? Someone at work told me I should also get a scart/3 phono cable for the VCR to DVDR. This is why I am getting so confused!!
I also forgot to mention that the TV has freeview as well and I want to use that too. You know, watch one digital and record another digital channel. And what about the aerial cable? Does it go into the TV or Sky Box or the DVDR?
Re: Looking for connection diagram for all my junk!!
Okay that's a little more confusing.
Firstly just stick with scart-scart cables as opposed to scart-3 phono cables. yes the later 'should' give a better quality recording on the DVDR, but I've never thought it that much better. The scart to scart is pretty damn good as it is (if you get a decent quality cable and switch the sky box to RGB output in the Services-Picture Settings in the sky box)
Re the RF cables........ as the freeview tuner is in the TV, you wont be able to record freeview whilst watching something else (at least i dont think so). Therefore just plug the RF cable into the TV and the rest is as ive said.
Is your Sky, Sky+ or normal sky...... if not sky+, then my best advice would be to upgrade to that too, then you could record 2 Sky channels and watch a 3rd digital thru the freeview tuner.

Just normal Sky, nothing special. Thanks Red for the advice. Will try your connections at the weekend. Too busy during the week to fuff around on my hands and knees :D
Thanks again

Re: Looking for connection diagram for all my junk!!
Hi, another newbie here. I also got connection probs (have already posted on here somewhere but think this thread is probaly more relevent.
Have got a new Samsung ES7000 (brille but too complicated for an oldie like wot I am), a sky+ HD box & a 3 yrs old Panasonic dvdr.
All worked ok with my previous set-up (old tv) but cannot get sky to record onto my recorder.
My wiring is:-
- co-ax aerial to TV
- hdmi cable to TV
- Scart cable from TV (ext rgb) to AV1 (tv) socket on recorder.
- all other skybox stuff to dish/phonepoint etc
Have tried wiggling the leads, changing to input/output parameters on both tv & dvdr but still cannot get a signal to the dvdr.
Any help (in simple terms) would be mightlily appreciated.

Scart cable from TV (ext rgb) to AV1 (tv) socket on recorder.
Usually a DVR has 2 sockets one for the input and one to the TV. You will have to connect the scart cable to the scart outlet on the Sky box and to the input on the DVR. Connect the TV scart on the DVR to your TV.
