utorrent + port forwarding help pls

      Hi guys
Been having trouble with frequent disconnects so have turned on uPnP in the router. Now when I do the test in utorrent it says ports not opened. I have gone to the services menu in the router and added the port which utorrent uses.
I have also had a go at configuring the rules section but am unsure how to do this.

      Anyone help please?

I take it you mean you've turned *off* UPnP, not on?

So... you've already added a "custom service" for the utorrent port (TCP & UDP)?

OK, next you want to go to the "Firewall Rules" section, & click "Add" under "Inbound Services".

In the drop-down list of services, find & select the custom one you created for utorrent. Set the "Action" to "ALLOW always". In the "Send to LAN Server" section, enter the IP address of the PC you want the port forwarded to (the one running utorrent). [If your PC gets its IP automatically from the router (via DHCP - default setting), then what you can do is also go to "LAN IP Setup" under "Advanced" on the left, & reserve a particular IP address for your PC (via its network adaptor / wireless adaptor's MAC address), so although it's an auto-assigned IP, the PC will always have the same one.]

Anyway. Next option, from the Rules bit, is to set "WAN Users" to "Any", & then set the Logging option to whatever you want (depending on if you want to log the rule or not).

      Then hit "Apply".

Then, back in the Firewall Rules main section, tick the square box for your new rule (in the "Enable" column), & then click on "Apply".

Job done. Your torrent port is now forwarded.

Top man...thanks very much. Sorry, yes I did mean I turned UPnP OFF not ON! I was struggling trying to configure my PC to have a static IP address. I found a link but it was far more complicated than your version above.
      Thanks
