Annoying problem with bit torrent
Hello first let me apologize if im posting this help request in the wrong forum? Anyway im a new sky bb user and im finding i have nothing but problems with it. The main problem im having is that whenever i use my bit torrent software my connection to the ventrilo server im useing msn and all web browsing totaly stops it just wont connect me. the stange thing is im still able to stay connected to world of warcraft and the bit torrent software(allthough the dl rate is very slow around 5-30k) i tryed turning the bit torrent software off and a few mins later im able to reconnect to ventrilo and msn and able to browse the web again. Ive followed the router setup guide on these forums and forwarded the ports for both ventrilo and the bit torrent software. So im totaly at a loss of what to do and getting very frustrated

that does sound very very strange i can use Utorrent, ventrilo and msn all at the same time with no truble at all and as you followed the torrent setup posts makes me think that perhaps your noise margine might be a tad low could you post your router stats for us to look at please ..?

Start by typing 192.168.0.1 into your browsers address bar!
Then when asked type
username = admin
password = sky
Then you should see, Show Statistics?
All info is in there!

This is a strange one to me? Your stats look fine, And i also use a torrent client, uTorrent? I havent had any problems?
if you dont have any large files downloading in bittorrent that you need, Why not try uTorrent? See uf its any better?

sorry to say but your stats are not Fine your downsteam noise margin is way too low at 5.6db this may start to cause instability and disconnection isses you should be hoping and aiming for around 8-10db min as this will allow overhead for any db drops during peak hours, are you directly in the master socket? using an extension?
post up some more information and we will try help. I mean no offence fibreoptic just pointing this out.

The issues seemed to be with her bittorrent client hogging the bandwidth?
But obviously you work for Sky @ theGeek so you would be more educated on these things?
What was so offensive in your post?
