Re: Sky now blocking Newzbin 2
I wouldn't mind knowing when they were served the Court Order and when that statement was posted, or are they referring to the BT Court Order and simply rolling over and agreeing to the MPA's request to follow suit.
I wonder if YouTube will be next, there are thousands of music videos, films readily available on there. The list of sites is endless.

Re: Sky now blocking Newzbin 2
This happened with a website called Newzbin 2. We have received a court order requiring us to block access to this illegal website, which we did on 13th December, 2011. Moving forward, as and when clear and legally robust evidence of copyright theft is presented, we will take appropriate action in respect to site blocking, which will include complying with court orders.

A bit vague to say the least, considering Sky class themselves as a leading player in bringing you news, I would have at least expected them to have made it clear who brought the action against them and when.
What Sky say and what they mean are two entirely different things, have you or anyone actually seen this reported in the media anywhere ?
It just seems strange that one of the largest ISPs in this country gets a Court Order issued against them and it appears to have gone completely unreported.
Just my thoughts, maybe I am being a little too harsh on Ruperts empire to think that they would misinform anyone

Re: Sky now blocking Newzbin 2
I think you have summed it up pretty nicely there, no point having Movie Channels if you're going to upset the MPA and risk losing all your screening rights. I wish I could have heard the telephone conversation between the MPA and Rupert ........ oops best not go there !
