I think i have sorted it now, after forwarding the port on the router i forgot (to be honest I didn't know) that I had to tell McAfee about it, so i just added the rule under firewall services and straightaway noticed the difference.

if my upload is 448kbps, what should I set it to for utorrent, has they recommend 80% of max speed?

thanks for the quick responses mates,

I would start at around 30-35kB/s and work up or down from there depending on what DLs you are getting....

When I was with BT Broadband they throttled BT traffic making it very slow

Follow this guide (http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-encry...rrent-traffic/) for instructions on how to encrypt BT traffic. It certainly worked when I was with BT Broadband, worth a try with sky.

most of the torrents ive bin downloading via sky are find, but thats all thats good about my connection lol.

i get abit of slowdown on some of them but thats the torrent trackers anyway not sky

you will have to open up ports to get a better connection, just make sure the ports you open are at a high ranges and also turn on the rc4 encryption incase of any future traffic shapping.

Hi all just come over from BT,s 2 meg package. Can't complain about the download speeds but as a Torrent Freak I'm at my wits end with a max download speed of 50kbps and zilch upload speed.Has anyone achieved fast speeds using Bittornado etc. If so HOW DO YOU SET UP THE ROUTER. I had no problems with the old alcatel slug with BT even though I could only reach speeds of 22o kbps. Please keep it as simple as possible I am no expert.
