Has your PC's IP address changed as a result of rebooting it or switching it off?

      Hi

When you setup the port forwarding, you would have had to tell the rule that you have created, to forward to the PC's IP address, ie 192.168.0.2 or similar.

If your PC now has an IP of 192.168.0.3 the rule would not work.

Can you confirm that you have created a rule for the port forwarding? And if the PC still has the IP address that you put in on the rule?

      Re: Please Help

Just to add to NR's info, it makes it a lot easier if you reserve the address you are forwarding for the machine you are running torrents on. The simplest way to do this is to have the PC connected on its own, go to the Attached Devices link in the router settings and note down the details, then go to the LAN setup and copy these details into the Address Reservations list. Click Apply and the PC will always be given the address reserved for it, no matter when it is switched on.

      Re: Please Help

Has anyone here got a more novice approach to what these posters have replied, as I alredy mentioned I'm very new to all this and what I see is rather techincal and difficult for me to follow.

I understnad that say port 56789 is not forwarding how do I get this port to forward to my laptop or desktop if laptop is 192.168.0.2 and pc 192.168.0.1. In an easy instructions approach please.

      thank you
