If this was a universal problem then I'd have thought with all our members we'd have seen a large number of posts.

Personally, I can see no evidence of throttling/shaping on my connection e.g. I've just run a test download on astraweb and instantly maxed out my connection (12meg). However, I've just run a test with Giganews and only got 4meg on the regular address but 11meg on the europe address. Which are you using?

Can't fault it really. Retention is 105 days and completion seems 100% in my experience.

Best feature for me is that they do PAYGO. 25gb for 5 or 90gb for 12.50.

If you are a really heavy user then 7.50 a month gets you unlimited access and speed.

If you want to try it then 5 one off for 25gb seems very fair to me

I would be interested to hear your experiences with Astraweb d3fiant, as I have the option to cancel my Giganews account within 3 days.

Re: intermittent dl speeds with newshosting

I bit the bullet and cancelled my Giganews before the free trial ended. Already cancelled Newshosting as thats been going downhill for a while for me. Signed up to the Unlimited DSL account with Astraweb @7.50 a month. Default server, default port (119) and maxing out my connection. Gotta be happy about that. I'll keep an eye on it of course, but so far so good.

Great, so we can assume that Sky still do not throttle.
