      not getting connected to torrents

      Hi guys,

      Sorry but im a bit of a noob. I followed a tutorial on port forwarding a while back, and all was fine until now ( i use u torrent ) the last week or so i just cant get any torrents.When i check the port on u torrent it says there is a problem and it apears not to be open. However when i go into the netgear settings page it says it is open?
      any help would be great guys

      p.s keep it simple .................i am a noob after all

      Do you have more than 1 pc connected to the router and if so do they connect wirelessly ? I've seen problems in the past when setting up port forwarding with pc's that connect wirelessly as the first pc that connects will get the first ip address which may not necessarily be the ip address used when setting up the port forwarding. I personally find it better if connecting more than 1 pc to set up static address's.

      I dont have more than 1 pc, just the laptop. I do connect wirelessly, any ideas?

      Hi Shakie you can test your port at the above address. you should be running your client when you do so.
