Sky started throttling BitTorrent?
I have started to notice this over the past few days. My connection speed is the same but every torrent I have tried to get over the past couple days has been maxed out at about 50kb/s and this increases quite a bit in the evenings, but it's not set in stone and seems to fluctuate a bit. But that's the pattern I've found - anyone else getting anything like that?
It would really suck if they did, seeing uTorrent report 900kb/s downstream was very fun and a nice experience after being with the hell that is Tiscali

I've had no problems with Azureus...
There is no shaping or throttling on Sky's LLU services.

Re: Sky started throttling BitTorrent?
You should consider trying rapidshare etc rather than bit torrents - way faster
RapidShare Links | (The New Rapidsharelink.blogspot.com Home)
Saurav.co.uk :: Download links to Games / TV Shows / Movies / Anime / PSP / Software
Ok you have to pay a small amount to fully get the benefits of the rapidshare downloads (e.g a premium account) but its definately worth it for the time saved.
Plus if you use a download accelerator program (DAP etc) you will get super fast http downloads in a fraction of the time bit torrent can sometimes take.
Highly recommend it ! bit torrent no more.

Re: Sky started throttling BitTorrent?
I dont have any problems with torrents (I use SeedBoxes btw), Even on Regular torrents I get ~500k.
Newsgroups speeds are just as fast as what I get from one of the Seedboxes.
I dont think Sky will, Not just yet anyway, As that is what is tempting a few people from VM to Sky.
If Sky did that, They will be just as bad.
