      Port forwarding question

      Hi,
Im new to this so be gentle. I have finaly figured out how in theory to forward my post and set a static Ip address. My question is that my housemate also uses the same router. Can I set a static IP address in the routers menu thingy that wont conflict with them and also allow them to use the internet at the same time. If I change the ip address in the netgear, will it affect them at all if they are still using the dynamic ip address? I hope that sounds right!!
      many thanks

      Re: Port forwarding question

how did u manage to set up static IP, using the guide from the following link:

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

only one DNS was listed on my computer, which meant i couldn't set up a static IP. If you tell me how u did this it would be much appreciated
