Eratic download speeds on Utorrent

Hi over the last few months i have been using Utorrent, i think i have finally got it working ok for me now after many hours of reading n messing about with it. It used to be that i would get between 1 and 30 kbps but now i have set it up somwhere near right i get alot better speeds. The problem is the speed i download at is eratic all the time one minute i might get 190+ kbps then it will start dropping to about 60 kbps or less then work its way back up again and so on untill the d/l is finnished. Is this normal ? should i not be getting a steady download speed all through.

I expect it depends on what speeds you're getting off the uploader / s that causes the changes in the download speed.
