Getting installed this Friday. Maybe they do reward loyal customers after all. Will probably be a refurb but hey it's free

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
Congratulations Mikey, I know you have wanted one nearly as long as myself. Even if it is a refurb, it will completely transform the way that you watch TV.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
I couldn't believe it when he said free! Originally they offered it for £49 including install. I explained I hadn't planned to pay anything extra as I though I would be cancelling, he put me on hold and came back and said he was going to do the whole thing completely free. I was really nice and so was he keep it pleasant and I'm sure you'd get what you were looking for.
Also used this number 01506421072 hence the call was free on Sky talk unlimited too.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
Sky are coming tomorrow to install Sky+. My worry is that my current box has never been connected to the telephone line and obviously tomorrow Sky will want to connect it to a telephone line. Without running loads of extension cable through the house there is no other way to connect Sky+ to the phone line. I was wondering if anyone knew whether the fee you can pay to opt out of the telephone connection applies to Sky+ or whether it's only for digital. They never bothered about my old box being connected so I was wondering if they are more strict with a single Sky+ box. I know they are with multi-room set ups.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
I tried it today after my digibox problems and told them I wanted to cancel has i wasn't gettting the viewing i am paying for.
Guy came back asking if i would be interested in a sky+ plus box instead (originally they wanted me to pay a call out charge of £65 with a refurb replacement box which i refused), but I couldn't get below the £49 charge with free installation. Took it and they coming next friday to do the install.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
I couldn't get them to offer me the Sky+ box for free but to be honest not too surprised as I've only been with them for 18 months.
Took the offer of £49 installed & Sky Talk unlimited free for a year (normally £5 a month).
Obviously would have liked it for free but pretty satisfied with what I got.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
I would have caved in at £49 eventually as well. Think of it this way though, you got Sky Talk Unlimited free for a year which saves you £60 over the year.

Re: Sky+ Box Free For Existing Customers
It took me 2 go's to get them to offer me that so I thought I was pushing my luck at that point!
Still saved on the Sky Talk though so I'm not complaining.
I was going to get Sky+ sooner or later anyway.
