O2 are soon to close their email service

For anyone out there who is still using their 02 email account, you should have received an email advising that the service is going to be closed soon.

The advice would be to promptly check in with anyone who sends you emails to this account and let them know your new email account with anther provider.

Sky does offer a free email account service. Provided that you access it at least every 180 days the account will stay active. You don't have to be a Sky customer to retain the account.

O2 are currently in the process of contacting their impacted customers via their email account.

We are aware that there's a small number of Sky customers who still use an O2 email account. Please note that this decision was taken solely by O2 and that you will need to setup or use an alternative email account.

I used an o2 account when I signed up with sky. Once my sky email address was working I deleted my o2 account. Now I am trying to add an alias email address and I am asked to verify my account through the address I signed up with. I don't have another address. what can I do?

I'd suggest setting up an account with Yahoo!, gmail, Hotmail or Outlook.

Personally I don't rely on one email account and use each for different functions. This way if one has a problem, I have another all ready to use, just in case.

O2 email was, according to the emails I received to it, to be closed on June 20th. Although access to webmail has disappeared off their website my old O2 email address still works via SMTP/POP3. Maybe they will close those servers down in due course, who knows. Not that I use that email account these days.
