      http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/1225...-10-now-tv-box

So now you know why they invested in Roku...

"Sky is hoping to shake things up a little bit, actually a lot, in the set top box market with the launch of a 10 box that plugs into your TV bringing users NOW TV, BBC iPlayer, and other internet services.

Priced at just 9.99, the box will allow people to connect their TVs wirelessly to the internet turning it instantly "Smart".

Once connected, homes with the NOW TV box will enjoy convenient and contract-free access to BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, BBC News App and Sky News, plus NOW TV Sky's service that offers access to Sky Sports and Sky Movies for a monthly fee. Users will also get access to Spotify, Facebook, and Flickr."

Wonder if it can be hacked and the firmware replaced with the Roku firmware...

Suppose it depends if it's the same bit of kit under the hood and how locked down it is.

As its a Roku 2 clone, does this mean that Demand 5 will be available to normal Roku boxes too?

Good price for the box but hardly makes up for the fact Movies at 15 a month are way over the top and Sports at 9.99 a day are, well, .... words fail me . And all in glorious SD?

That is quite an amazing price for a wireless device, considering it also includes an HDMI cable. Makes you wonder how overpriced their normal Wireless connector is?

It's highly likely to be subsidized

Just musing....if you already pay for Sky Sports, can you use this for free streaming sports direct to a TV rather than via Sky Go thru a PC connected to the TV???
