I hope sky is going to adjust their prices/speeds soon for fttp as I'm not sure I wanna leave them, can anyone confirm they still using mer on fttp yet? That will stop me as a lot of hardware doesn't seem to support that still.
I believe they do use MER on FTTP (think I read it on here quite recently?)

Aww that sucks, surprising how much gear struggles with mer. Maybe gonna get the 950Mbps one from BT anyway if I can sort a router with that kind of throughput with utm enabled. Plenty of time doubt much will happen over xmas.

@coipu Yeah, there was a time when I was mad keen to go 3rd party router on Sky network myself, but never got around to it - and nowadays I don’t really have any issues with the supplied router (it seems to do what I need) and so I just can’t be bothered. I must be getting old! And a bit soft...

      Re: Leaving Sky soon.

Next gen firewalls are pretty amazing (i liked opnsense and sensei), the connections that android apps (wifes mostly) and tv's try to make are frightening. Killing all the ads is amazing too. My poor old apu2c4 will struggle with 950Mbps product without utm even overclocked.
edit: they're outside now stringing the fibre to my new pole ^^ hopefully not long to go \o/
