      Dropping Movies

Would someone kindly help an old duffer here? I have just spent 10 mins removing the above from my package, which now consists of Skyfamily only, the HD bit has also been removed as well apparently. Can anyone help me with what this means?

Can I still get documentaries as before?
Can I receive say BBC1HD (141) in HD format and other HD programmes, apart from Movies as well?

I had a hard job understanding the young woman I was talking too and being elevated in age I'm afraid my cognisance is not what it used to be either. Apparently in 31 days time my charge reduces to 31.75 a month.

A neighbour has told me the call to make this alteration probably cost me over 15 and many of the questions I had to go through were really irrelevant to my request I thought? Just the way of the world today I suppose.

      Thank you

      Yes it's all a bit over-complicated really, isn't it?

Documentaries - not sure what's in the Family pack, but probably yes (someone else will no doubt confirm or correct me on this point!)

HD - you should still be able to watch in HD: ITV1 (but not ITV2/3/4), all BBC, C4 and a few other channels that are free (FTA? FTV?) - but not C5 and the HD version of Sky1 etc. Again someone else will no doubt confirm or correct me on this point!)

The call will be free if you are on Sky Talk, otherwise you probably called an 03 number - so, if you have an included minutes bundle the call will come out of that (if you don't have included minutes, it's a standard geographic call so probably not as expensive to call as many non- standard numbers).

PS. There's a 31 day notice period so the change won't take effect until then (which will be sometime in early March - 13 March?)

      Re: Dropping Movies

You will still be able to get Documentaries in HD where its available. You will get SD & HD on all the channels in the Family Bundle, which is all except the Premium channels, like Sport, Movies etc.

Unless you were calling from a PAYG mobile I doubt is your call cost 15. If you are on Sky Talk it would be free. It would also be free if your phone deal includes free calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers. Calls to 03 numbers would normally cost 5 or 6 pence per minute plus a connection fee of about 12p, it you don't have a call plan. So a call lasting about an hour would cost you about 3.00 to 4.00.

      Re: Dropping Movies

I did exactly what you did last year, the HD that was removed would have been Sky Movies in HD, the family bundle gives you all the non-premium channels in HD

If you previously had access to the F1 channel, you'll lose that by making the switch from having the old separate HD pack to the family bundle.

There is no problem provided you are out of the minimum term contract. When I dropped Movies I was offered half price for 6 months, but I wasn't interested.
