Has anyone successfully used W7 Backup.Restore using network location setting

Has anyone successfully used W7 Backup.Restore on a networked hard drive. i have spent all expleative afternoon trying to get it to work. IT WONT!

i would like to start by explaining my setup as follows

New 2nd Computer in front Bedroom W7 pro fully homegrouped
1st Computer in back bedroom W7 Fully homegrouped (they already talk to each other)

the thing is when i try to setup a backup and restore via network location (a hard drive on another pc) it says location can not be used please check credentials what creds do i need. i have spend all afternoon googling the problem i need help why do microsoft offer this setting then make it really difficult to do. there are a few articles about how to do it online but nothing about the creds i need to set it up. a step by step guide would be wonderful guys please help.

I would assume that you would need to enter the credentials of the machine at that location, i.e. computer name\username and the corresponding password.

it requires administrator access but its a real headache done it once never again i just rebuild manually now , normally any image file must be stored in root system not in a backup folder , both machines have to share same owner for both administrator accounts

I am pretty sure you need the Pro or Ultimate version to use Network backup. If you don't have one of these you are wasting your time.

      Compare Windows - Microsoft Windows

      Cobian Backup

This will backup to various locations including network.

Might be a bit complicated to setup though, Can't remember if it has a wizard mode to guide you through it or not.
