Question Firefox 10 Windows XP Compatiblity

I'm considering upgrading my current version of Firefox 3.6.26 to version 10 on my 6 year old Acer Travelmate 2310 running Windows XP Home Edtion SP2 on a 1.2Ghz Celeron CPU, 748MB DDR1 RAM and a 40GB HDD, which is my internet usage system.

I was wondering would Firefox 10 run smoothly on Windows XP Home, without any major problems.

Firefox will work on XP, but there are some huge differences in the look and feel.

If it doesn't work smoothly, consider something like Chrome which is a little quicker.

I would also highly recommend that you update your computer to SP3. SP2 is no longer supported by many new packages.

I've update to version 10.0.2 and everything appears to be running smoothly.

Also Windows update on XP is also no longer supported below SP3 and so security updates etc. cannot be downloaded/installed (you will need to download/install SP3 manually).

I did that prior to updating FireFox, but thanks for the advice.
