they dont care how you use your xxx meg

I think sim only one plans they dont allow teathering

But if you get a full price contract with a decent phone deal
      they allow it

But saying that my brother in law got a one plan sim only about two months ago
and im pretty sure that teathering is working on his gingerbread phone

I had a full signal on the Samsung when I performed the test.

Looking at Ofcom's map, I have a direct line of site to the transmitter, which is around 600m away.

Certainly I did look at Three for when I looked at the phone. Their contract is reasonable, with Vodafone blocking Skype as standard. I specifically asked if this could be enabled otherwise I would move away from them in favour of Three. This they did. I also managed to wrangle an unlimited Internet for the first 3 months.

I would have liked Three's unlimited broadband access for the whole term of the contract. but in fairness I haven't previously used my phone that much for Internet access and I think that Three block tethering.

I guess it's a while before 4G hits UK shores, in the meantime people in the U.S. are enjoying 4G and LTE on Verizon and other carriers such as AT&T.
I don't think the SGSII is compatible with 4G networks, as far as I know you are able to run the 3G network on the SGSII.

      Re: Samsung Galaxy S II

Since there is not currently a defined specification for 4G, there is a possibility that it some so-called 4G systems could work on this phone.

If a change of hardware/components is required to enable the phone to access different frequencies for 4G, then the phone will be unable to access them. However, if the changes required are purely software related, then I would hope that various firms would update their phones.

For details of the Samsung's Specs:

      Samsung GALAXY S II

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

I wouldn't be surprised, the South Korean models are the only ones with NFC communication.
