      Post Best storage medium for backups of data

      Hi i am after the best storage medium for storing 1TB's worth of data.

      lenght of time storage medium prefered 10yrs plus

      here is what i have

      596gb C: disk 45.00 used
      931gb Windows B/R drive 47.99 new
      931gb Documents apps videos Dr1 69.99 new
      931gb Documents apps videos Dr1 Clone (incase of failier) 69.99 new
      931gb Documnets apps videos Dr2 69.99 new

      DRIVE FREE SPACE DISK USED FOR
      C; Drive 469gb free - (windows system)
      Drive 1 126gb free - (used for 5hrs + a day for watching videos)
      Drive 2 739gb free - (using to collect more files)
      B/R Drive 435gb free - (used for O/S Backup every sunday)

      so any advise or information would be great as i have spend 302.96 in the past year so i can store my data. cloning the above drive took 21hrs.52minutes to complete so that is out of the question for know.

      Online backup is becoming more popular, but have you worked out how long it is going to take to upload 1Tb? Its going to take a long time with Sky's upload speeds. You are also committing yourself to annual fees, which could increase..

      I looked at this yesterday.

      With the current hike in hard drive prices, 25 looks a good price for a years worth of on-line backup of 1TB.

      Security would be an issue though, so make sure that any password is secure and not easy to guess.

      The advantage over an external hard drive though is that it would be protected from fire or loss.

      When it comes to renewal next ear, double check the prices of external drives and what backup software is available and how secure it all is.
