      Ati hd 5450 stuttering?

      Hey

I have the above card, but built in a HTPC, but when I play 1080p content on my TV it can stutter.

Do I need a better card. I was told this one would be great for 1080p stuff, but it does stutter on HD stuff and drivers are up to date.

      Thanks

File I was playing was 11gb tron legacy file with DTS audio over a wired gigabit lan

You also need a good computer processor and fast hard drive.

What Processor do you have and what software were you using?

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Just had a thought... My codecs might need changing.

But I have a quad core amd 9350e phenom and a 1tb samsung f3 hdd

Going to clear my codecs and try ffd show or cccp and see what happens.

Codecs? Oh yeah, I remember those problems...

      Try this software instead:

VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!

Virtually all codecs are catered for and I find it an excellent program.

The latest ATI drivers arnt that hot, I'm still using 10.5.
Any newer give in game problems with BFBC2, just a thought as it doesnt take long to roll back and try earlier versions.

      Re: Ati hd 5450 stuttering?

Well downloaded CCCP and all is good, and also coreavc.

The only thing is when I try fast forward it does stutter, but it was a 12gb file with dts audio, also have tron with master audio and that seems better with windows media classic.

I was streaming that from my ac ryan downstairs and that only has a 100lan so thats probably half the problem as well.

I dont game so not too worried about that, will keep an eye on it, I should imagine a better card wont be much better or worth getting, I just need to insure I am only watching a movie and not downloading or extracting at the same time.
