Re: Trimming a video file
have a look at AfterDawn.com: software: Video software: Video tools
you might find something there.
what about Windows Live Movie Maker (or the XP/Vista equiv).

Re: Trimming a video file
Try Windows Movie maker, it was included with Vista but with Win 7 is now a part of Windows Live. You will get it here - Movie Maker - Windows Live
I don't know why they took it out of the OS, maybe to reduce what some would consider 'bloat'. Nevertheless it is a good basic video editing application and is easier to use than many of the commercial offerings like Adobe Premier.
I am assuming you are using Win 7, if not you will find it in Vista's programs.

Re: Trimming a video file
Yes, plenty. What format are the video files in, i.e MPEG1/2, WMV, AVI, MOV, MP4, etc?

Re: Trimming a video file
Try VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod. It's freeware and can do pretty much anything you want with any video format. You can crop, cut, join, re-encode ect. There are plenty of tutorials knocking about on doing virtualy any video task you can think of.

Yep, I;ve used that before. I have already pointed him to afterdawn where you can find virtualdub amongst otheres, but it appears he wasn't happy with what was on offer
VirtualDub v1.9.8.32706 (open source)

Re: Trimming a video file
VirtualDub is one of the best freewares out there! I've used it plenty, and have tried sooooo many others but always come back to VirtDub. It's one of those programs that everyone should have!
