      Sky+ Box as standard?

A friend of Satdish, an ex VM customer rang Sky on Saturday to enquire about swapping from VM to Sky. The only condition, he made Sky commit to, was that the installation of the Sky TV had to be by Wednesday (tomorrow) so as not to miss Battlestar Galactica.

He had his Sky TV installed today with a Sky+ box installed, instead of the normal box, but was definitely expecting the normal Sky box.

Could anyone who has signed up recently, please let us know what type of Sky box you had installed. Either standard or Sky+.

Maybe this was an oversight by the engineer. it would be interesting to know if they gave him 2 feeds or one. Then we will know if Sky will charge customers further installation when upgrading a sky+ box, which has been provided to someone not subscribing to sky+, to get the recording features.

I know of someone who may be signing up to Sky (not +) shortly so I will check to see what they get when it's installed.

      Edit: my fault

when he phoned he enquired about a Sky+ box but was told demand was high and no new ones left so was offered a reconditioned one for 49 and with 12month warranty, installed today and should have broadband in 5 days ish,

the point of this story is Sky seem to be pushing switching customers dates forward where possible
