      BOINC Projects: Volunteer computing

      Hi all,

Just wondered whether any skyusers were using the idle time on their computers to participate in any volunteer computing. I recently joined up with the SETI@home project. Does anyone, for instance, participate in the BBC's climate change experiment?

Does anyone else use their computer's spair time to help in the study of Biology and Medicine, Earth Sciences, Mathematics, Strategy Games, or Astronomy and Physics experiments, I would be interested to hear.

Most projects can be joined at the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing projects at:

      BOINC

Or if anyone has any other suggestions for worthwhile projects to join, let me know.

      Nice one!

I'm currently only doing SETI@home and am looking for something a bit more worthwhile. Although, I would love to discover some little green men, I think some of my pcu time may be better employed with other projects (maybe 50:50 with something else). I was hoping someone could point me at another. I will take a look at the project your doing and maybe join up.

      Thanks for the reply

      Re: BOINC Projects: Volunteer computing

Thanks for that. Will take a look at both suggestions when I get home from work.

I would like to make a difference to one project without spreading the time around between them too much. Suppose I will just have to try and find the right balance.
