      Newbie from Nottingham

      Hi,

Just joined this forum after it was mentioned on a motorcycle site which I frequent.

I live in Nottingham and I'm currently with NTHell. I want to make the jump to Sky Broadband 8Mb from the 17.99 pm 2Mb that I currently have.

Unfortunatley I've read some horror stories on the Moneysupermarket.com site where people have had terrible problems getting connected or even becoming totally unconnected from the net.

I've tried talking to Sky about their See, Speak, Surf package and obviously they claim it's going great.

Is there anyone from the Nottingham area on this site and what was/is their experience of the whole changeover. I'm nervous about changing and ending up with no internet for ages whilst it gets sorted.

      Any comments?

I'm not from Nottingham but the general jist is this. There might be problems getting you connected to Sky especially as they are only sending the routers out once your line has been activated so this wil mean a few days downtime. Once you are up and running mainly there are not to many problems.

Nothing bad to report here either...

Neice in Retford reports problem free.

Are you NTL over BT or cable? If the latter, keep connection intact until activated with SKY.
