Working for yourself is cool, I was afraid and apprehensive to do it at first. However if you don't try you would never find out whether it was the right decision to be made or not.
I don't earn a great deal, all my bills are paid, my kids are fed and happy and my wife is happy also. As long as my family don't suffer, I have no plans to work for anyone else.
Although I realise I will never be rich, working for myself, the independence is great, and I truly believe I could not work for anyone else now anyway. I hate been told what to do
If it did fail for me, then I would go out and find a job anyway.

I'm i the same boat ie bills paid, kids fed, wife happy etc. However I will also never be rich money wise but ( same as you by sound of it ) richness is not just about money its about quality of life. Your happy with yours and me with mine - if council decide to let me go i'll give it a try on my own. You never said what you do - its ok if you dont want to say on here.
regards and merry xmas to u and yours

Pc's are a hobby for me and last time I got made redundant I thought about doing it as a business on my own . I thought it might curb my interest doing it all time so never bothered. Out of interest would you recommend upgrading a socket a pc from 2.6ghz to 3.2 (amd) or go for amd 64 or intel equivalent instead ? - sorry this will be my last post as this is now well off the subject of birthdays

If you can find a socket A 3200 then I would be surprised.
Go for an Amd 64 cpu they are cheap as (pardon the pun) chipshowever you would need a new board as well

Theres been a few on ebay I've been watching recently but theyv been going for £70-80 ( a lot for old tech as i'd also have to upgrade ram to 400mhz as well to see full benefit) i'll check out prices of amd 64 m'board bundles i think - see you moved post - it would be interesting to see what others do 9 - 5 as well - good shout
