When will I get my Modem?

      Hi,

I signed up with Sky on Monday 11th December 2006 at 10:30am

I'm migrating from BT, so I gave him my MAC.

The guy said that I should get my welcome letter and Modem in 5 working days... So far, nothing!

How is the Modem sent? Special Delivery or by courier?

I signed up for sky and sky broadband at the end of november. I didn it online at work. On the 8th december sky TV was installed but I still havn't had the router yet.

How long does it take, any one know?

      Cheers

I tried to order online, but I got a msg saying call this number... So I did. My sister orded Sky BB when it first came out and she had a engineer come round and installed it for her, she said it took 7 days from the phone call to be installed...

The first time I tried online thats what I got, I waited 15 minutes then it worked (15 minute rule cause they still use windows server 2000 you see).

i've had sky TV installed a week today. I'll give them a ring on monday I reckon.

I ordered the max package and it asked if I wanted an engineer to do it for free or to do it myself, I figured it would be quicker to do it myself.

Hmm well I ordered on the 16th November, router arrived on the 21st, connected on the 28th, if I was you I'd ring up Sky and see if everything is going according to plan and may be worth a visit but you need to regster BT.com: Broadband Internet, mobile and fixed telecommunications products and service from BT for home and business and see what that says.

If you are really lucky like me your router might arrive after you have been switched over to Sky. You of cousre then have to chase them up about it. Mine did turn up two days later so it wasn't to bad in the end.

      Hi,

As I said I ordered sky and sky broadband at the end of november online at the same time.

I decided to ring up having TV installed for a week but no word on the broadband. I spoke to a women who said when you order sky and sky broadband online you are only actually registering your interest for the broadband. She said I can put you through to sales if you like.

Are sky stupid why give me the option to order sky BB but in fact i am just registering my interest. It stupid... I selected the package and whether to install it myself or not e.t.c so now it won't come before crimbo... gutted. 10 to 15 days they said it'll take..gay!!!

Oh well I'm sure it'll be worth it

If you have heard nothing about your Sky Broadband, please ring them to check that nothing has gone wrong. I ordered last week and my MAC had been rejected. Sky did not tell me this information, I found out for myself.

This would stop the Broadband from following its natural progression through all the departments etc. I rang the day after and informed them and they resubmitted the MAC. I got the first letter yesterday and another one today, but no router yet....

You can check on this site for any orders, you will have to register first and then you can check any orders outstanding on your line.

      Good luck.

The router fiasco is a little worrying from sky's part ive heard of a lot of stories including my own where the service is activated yet no router, honestly you really do need to keep chasing them to "put an email throught to a bloke (Or woman - the man i spoke to said its another fella who does the chase ups) to chase up your router, i pestered them and within 4 days of the service going active the router turned up courtesey of Parceline
