      Hello

      Hi,

I have just signed up to the forum, I have been 'lurking' about for a week or two and have found some of the posts very helpful. You seem like a friendly bunch

I have been on the Connect package since mid November without any real problems others than the normal Portal login password issues and login issues.

      general chat

I too have found the Forum to be invaluable.I tried to access my Sky emails last week and was driven insane by the "The page isn't redirecting properly" message which came up time after time after time.I phoned technical support last Wednesday (29.11.2006) and a young male said it was all my fault because I hadn't enabled my cookies!!When with a heavy heart I phoned again a day later I was delighted and relieved when a young lady told me that no Sky customers were getting their emails. At least it wasn't just me.She advised me about Microsoft Outlook and put me through to an advisor for me to obtain compensation...10.I regret that I am yet another one of those old gits(approaching 60) who are absolute computer/broadband/internet no-hopers whose knowledge on a scale of 1-100 is about one and a half but at least I did have the luck to find this Forum. With the wonderful information provided on the Forum my son managed to access Microsoft Outlook and my emails thereon.Much too hastily and overwhelmed by relief and delight I told him he need not pay us for his keep this month.Ever since we forsook Tiscali in September (still trying to stop them taking the direct debits!) to place our trust in Sky we have had one problem after another mainly I suppose because our begged and borrowed PCs were only Windows 97 and because they were not wireless enabled. With my wife threatening divorce my son again came to my aid using his contacts to borrow 'discs' etc. to get us up to XP and installing Intranet ports and wireless enabling devices.I think we are now OK for the moment but being a total pessimist I'm sure there is another disaster lurking just around the corner. My son says his computer has gone down now because he didn't register his update to XP which he should have done within 30 days because his computer isn't a Dell. It's all Greek to me!
