      Hi All...

New member today... been reading forum posts for sometime, but have a problem with my Sky+ box and looking for a "cheap" way to get Sky HD - like most have been with Sky for the last 12 years.... and even then way back when my Dad had it in 1993 !!!

Work in IT and am the resident computer/techie person in the family and street and school gate lol

      Have 2 kids, 3 & 5, which keep me busy ...

Hope everyone had a great Xmas and are looking forward to the New Year

      Cheers

      Re: Say Hello

Good afternoon all - I would like to introduce myself to everyone.

First of all I am neither computer literate nor verbally agile so you will need to excuse my spelling mistakes and my lack of basic computer knowledge.

Apart from being a boring old fart I am retired after spending my working life as a Baker (18 years) and looking after young people with learning difficulties - (no I was not a pupil I was a carer for 28 years)

I do not keep the best of health and rely on my computer to provide me with a window to the "normal" world.

I have been with Sky TV since I had to change from BSB when Sky took it over. I was with Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange broadband but hope the change over from "the end of the day today" will see me as a Sky broadband user. Looking forward to the "end of the day" (would that be the end of the working day? or midnight?)

This will be the type of questions that I would need advice on. At my age there will be no chance I will be up until midnight I will be well tucked into my old flea pit and sound asleep by then. Would it not have been better if Sky just gave the change over the next morning?

May you all be blessed by being happy, healthy, wise and wealthy.

Signed up earlier today. 24, married full time, had a few Sky questions but they're mostly all answered. Looks a nice place here and it's better than outside.

      Re: Say Hello

      Hello all,
Just registered today after reading the forum for a week. So glad I found this place, seems really friendly and lots of folk who know more than me (not difficult) but who are willing to share.
As for me I am 44, although I spent the last year convinced I was 42 so have lost at least a year somehwere along the way. If I had to lay odds I would go for 1986/87 as recollections of that period is more than a little vague I live with my partner in the north of England.
My new year resolution is to manage my spare time constructively and as a means to this end am considering writing a book on the decline of the common pit pony in rural England specifically exploring how this has possibly contributed to a similar decline in the instances of clog dancing troupes currently active in the pop charts.
I think it could be the next Harry Potter

      Re: Say Hello

Hello, a newbie here...just about to move (end of January) into new home for me and my daughter. Sadly my marriage ended...as has access to SKY!! So here is where I am looking for advice, I am intending to get Sky+ (2 packages),BB and Sky Talk. I am especially needing the BB done for as soon as I move in as I am in the middle of a dissertation and require internet access.
The current phone line in the new house will soon be disconnected so, do i go with BT for line renatal or Sky?
How likley is it I can get everything done on the same day? So many questions..your help/advice would be gratefully received..and I am being cheeky here..if there are any good deals i.e not paying installation/box fees to hear about them would be a great start to a brand new year!! Thanks Annie
