Oh well here goes, hello everyone. I am currently a Bulldog customer but as of 22nd September I will be a broadband free-agent once more. I am moving back to BT for my land line and will be connecting to SKY as soon as I can (purely due to cost). In the mean time I am looking for a cheapish, short contract based provider to keep me going so any suggestions greatfully recevied. I have had the usual emails saying SKY is coming but nothing other than that....

On a personal note I am 39 (soon) married (17 yrs) two kids (6 & 13) and three cats (17, 1 & 1). I suppost I am the main user online in our house. I have worked in IT for 20 years starting as a developer and now as a project manager (PRINCE2 is grrrrreat). As a hobby I have done some web publishing (html) and am trying to learn Flash at the moment. I play FPS games frequently online (perhaps too much - it has been known for me to look around the floor when exiting my house looking for land mines....:~0 ).

All right - I'm a 28 year old in the last few months of a PhD. So I spend most of my days in a study at home writing and the internet is really important to keep me in touch with things. We were on BT Broadband but they just can't compete with Sky's offer and I was getting fed up with the disconnects and freezes that we were often getting. This is a really helpful forum btw (where do you find the time to set something like this up) and it's helped me to get the router up and running. Brilliant.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Evening all.

Just orderedSKY BB (Saturday 23rd) so thought I'd join up in case I have any problems.

Have to say that my present provider (Demon) performed admirably by providing me with a MAC during the same phone call as my cancellation request, however the customer service fella said "I hear SKY are having major problems" thats fine I said, I'll take a chance when I'm being offered 8 x the service for 9.99 less per month!!

Hopefully my migration will go smoothly.

      Glad to meet you all

      Howdie All

Im J-ames, 31 and a network consultant from South Wales. Ive been on broadband since the very begining back in the days when it was sooooo expensive. Gone to SKY BB for the lower costs and higher bandwidth.

Ive pretty much used a few of the larger broadband services Pipex, BT, AoL, Wanado so hoping that SKY can provide a decent service. Ive read some of the posts here and gotta say worry abit but then easynet (The SKY BB Backbone) are pretty reputatable as ive used them professionally in work so they should sort out the problems in the longer term.

Heres hoping for a nice easy transition!
