Hi everyone! I'm Gilgongo. Until this week, I was on HomeChoice for four years with absolutely not one problem the whole time; unlimited downloads and customer service that was just stunningly wonderful...

Then my STB died and I'm being forced to use Tiscali with a crappy router that controls my TV and that I can't run any custom firmware on for things like VPN and dynamic DNS (and keeps freezing outbound connections over SSH). So, I'm headed for Sky I think.

      Hope it goes well!

      Hello all!

I'm registering here as my Dad is about to sign up for Sky BB and order Sky+ and has been a TV customer for going on 7-8 years now! Signed up to have a browse, see what people are saying about Sky BB and just in case we need any help! Although we shouldn't with me around

      Re: Say Hello

      Hi all,

I joined only moments ago, as I was connected to Sky Broadband Max yesterday afternoon, as I was with Tiscali, but I cancelled my service with them on 27th March 08, due to nothing but ongoing problems with them, mainly sppen, and getting DCC all the time, I am well impressed with Sky so far, I am getting a really fast broadband connection, and Not to mention Great value for money, and all billed on the same date each month, I will be contributing any knowledge that anyones requires, as I am a system builder, as well as got alot of expertise on computing!

      Nice to meet you all!!!!

      Deano

      Re: Say Hello

Hello everyone, I moved from Tiscali 512kbps to Sky 3.5mbps. (updated now 2.7mbps capped at 3mbps still better than 512kbps. But all suppliers can give a good quality and quantity by doing what clever suppliers like sky used to do, Flood the telephone connection which gives great speeds, Lower noise margins and happy customer) Hello again I must say this is a good site full of useful information.

      Re: Say Hello

Hi everyone, I have been using Sky Broadband Mid for three weeks now and what a difference!! After limping along at 1.3Mbps with PlusNet on ADSL Max, I now get between 2.7Mbps and 3.1Mbps on Sky LLU at 3+ miles from the exchange. All for 5.00 per week!

      Re: Say Hello

      Evening all.

I hope I become a regular face here as there seems to be a lot of people who know a lot of stuff about Sky TV and BB. Just what I need being a brand new Sky customer. Just had Sky+ installed this morning, Sky Talk is on it's way as is Sky Max BB. The whole shooting match for less than phone & BB from BT.
You'll have to scuse me, I need to ask a question already!

      Re: Say Hello

Hello all! Just joined sky yesterday after being with Metronet for about 3 years with 5 static IP's no less! Moved here on grounds of costs - its cheaper and I get more bang for my buck!
I have an IPCOP pc / router so hope to use that instead of the Sagem modem - just got to figure out how to bridge or do passthrough with it - but as I cant access the admin page I am stuck at the moment! I will put that problem in another part of the forum!.

There seems to be a great attitude to helping others so I hope I can help someone someday myself!

      All the best,

      dicky

      Hiya All

Joined Sky (8Mb) a week or so ago. Come from Virgin (spits) and their crappy 2Mb cable and TV. So far Sagem modem has performed superbly giving around 5-7Mb and works well wirelessly (sp) for my better half's lappie !

TVs not half bad either, no drop outs, regular reboots and pixelation as you get on VM.
