Hi I'm 15 and I'm from Manchester, England. I am on Sky's MID Package Broadband and started on it last year around November and when my contract is over this years November. I'm thinking of switching to AOL for there free laptop or NTL for there good speed optic fibre cable broadband.

      Re: Say Hello

Hi one and all, about 5 days away from 'getting connected'

I am 66 (yrs, not route!) and 'nearly' retired. Enjoy my computer, caravaning, hill walking and scuba diving and of course life. Had broadband for a number of years (BT 8meg) changing to Sky Mid, phone and digital package in an attempt to save on outgoings. Did I hear someone say "tight old git" yep that is true not quite as tight as a penguins chuff though

Not got round to sorting out all the bits and bobs such as avatars and other details etc so watch this space!

      Hi All

Joined SKYUser in the hopes of finding a solution to the problems with my SKY BB connection, and guess what, I'm certainly not alone with this problem!! (repeatedly disconnecting)

Oh well... happy to be here anyway

      Re: Say Hello

      Hi all.
Not sure if I've done this right as I am a newbie, and this is my first post.
Had Sky Broadband for a week (seems longer), and my hobbies this week have been painting the spare room, completely re-landscaping the front and back garden whilst waiting for web pages to load (hope it gets better!).
Looking forward to contributing to these forums.

      Re: Say Hello

Hi there, I'm Jay, 30-something from the lovely hills just outside Manchester.
Just switched to Sky BB purely for the monetary saving, & the off-chance of a bit more speed.
I work in IT, & spend far too much time in front of a PC, either working, playing or surfing.

Now, off to browse & see if I can find some info regarding my DNS issues...

      See you around the forums

      Re: Say Hello

Newbie here. First time using Sky BB - being activated this friday. Thought i would get ahead of the game and check out any potential issues with Sky Bb beforehand.

Living in essex with wifey and newbie baby so lots of time at home to play on the net.

      See ya around

      Re: Say Hello

Hi - thought I'd say Hello,

I joined Sky BB around 3 months ago after suffering Orange for several months with poor service, abismal support and very poor (probably capped) conection speeds.

I am pleased to see with Sky I get over twice the speed and support now appears to be based in the Phillipines which makes a change from India.

I currently have no issues with Sky other than a modem that freezes occasionally but for the price is not a major problem.

As for me - I don't get asked if I'm over 21 in shops and my Bus pass comes in handy sometimes - overall I spend a lot of time on-line, generally via a VPN connection to the Office with some time on an evening surfing.

I don't play online games - a Goldfish will have a better attention span, however I do spend quite some time writing Websites - it keeps me off the streets.

Anyway, over the next few months, hope to get to know some of you - if I can help - just give me a shout.

      David (aka countrydance - don't ask )
