Hi everyone, I'm Kev. I've only just started with Sky, but so far so good. I was previously with Blueyonder, and all was well until Virgin took over...

I must say I wish I'd changed over ages ago - I'm getting much better performance, and saving myself 20 per month too.

      Re: Say Hello

      Hello everyone,
I am new here and have several questions. I quess this site is for a satillite TV service?

I live in the USA and I use Cable TV for my tv and internet services. I pay around $135.00 per month for all the movie channels. Showtime HBO cinamax star etc.
I also get 5mb/sec internet here.

My question to the board is does sky have services in the USA?
we have a satillite based service for internet here in the USA but the equipent is over $500. then 60-75 p/m for service. Does anyone have any alternatives for the USA?

I have been a loyal Torrentleech user for quit some time now with a Ratio: 6.551 Uploaded: 601.75 GB Downloaded: 91.85 GB Is this site a place for file sharing info?

If not I am sorry for intruding here.

      Thank You DJ JAMS

Hi all, I'm Steve and a brand new Sky Broadband user (Why does this sound like an AA meeting...hmmm)

I'm a London commuter and live out in the sticks. Basically waiting for Sky to upgrade my exchange!

So what I am saying is, Hello!

      Re: Say Hello

I discovered this site when searching for solutions to my Sky router teething problems. I've been on Sky MidBand since last thursday, and initially experienced a lot of freeze-ups which necessitated powering down / up the Sky router. This was very aggravating, but it is a lot better now and I think the line was probably bedding in, because my average downstream speed is 1000 - 2000 kbps faster than it was with BT up to 8meg BB. During discussions with Sky tech support, tier 1 (who are perhaps best described as helpful morons ) I learnt that if there was a fault with the Sky router, it would take 2-3 weeks to replace it. This has been worrying me quite a bit, so thanks to some extremely helpful posters on this forum I have established my Sky router username and password. So in the event of a problem with the Sky router, I can now use my old Netgear router with no disruption to my BB. I've also installed Mossywell's Bounce Sky Router - what a great app I'll buy Mossywell a pint of flat southern bitter anytime - the guy deserves a big pat on the back....

      Re: Say Hello

      Hi All,

Been scanning around the forum as a visitor for a few months now since planning to move over to Sky. I am on a MAX connection for the broadband, and the very basic TV package as I don't watch a lot of TV but use the internet a lot more.

So far it has been really helpful, the forum seems very well supported and populated by polite people (unlike a lot of internet collectives ). As I'm experiencing a few issues with my Sky connection I thought I would join to see if anyone could help out!

      Cheers,

      Dave
