      Hi there.

Been checking out this forum for a week or so now, actually made my decision to change from AOL DSL Max to SKY BB Max, used to get 6mb connection & download at 570kbps but dropped off recently. (BT said I'd never go higher than 2mb as long line)

Should be going live with SKY on 23 March, they told me should get about 4.6mb which is about same as I get now, 48db downstream att, hoping I might go a bit higher.

Anyway, great informative site & will post back when SKY gets connected.

      Re: Say Hello

hello been reading site for couple of days realise how little i know
gradualy getting there, my sky broadband is max which speed wise is a waste of time as my line attenuation is 58.0db downstream 31db up meaning i only get 2.5mb.
as im 2 miles from exchange i find strange.does that mean you have to live in the exchange to get 16 mg

      Hello Sky Masters

I finally managed to get SKY BB active after numerous phone calls, letters and of course a long 5 month wait.. ( my promised activation date was 11, Oct 2006.)

I moved from Virgin Media 2 MB package ( 2048 /220) to 2048/416 on Sky)

One week so far and speed seems okay ( I get about 1.6~1.7 MB and 340 uplink..). It's free so can't complain....

      Re: Say Hello

      Hello,

Just joined the forum after reading the comments for a couple of days. Very informative. I just wanted to say 'hello' before I start moaning about the lousy download speeds, this is not the place to do that. From what I've read there are some very clever and talented people on this forum whom I'm sure will help me sort my problems out. And if I can in my small help them, I will.

      Hi All

Been a Sky tv customer for 6 years now & been with TalkTalk BB for 18 months have been thinking of going to Sky for my BB for a while, recieved a call yesterday from Sky enquiring whether I would be interested in BB so decided to take the plunge & switch. Has anyone switched from TalkTalk if so did they have any problems? I was suprised I got my MAC code over the phone last night!

      Hello ALL.

      Hope everyone is ok.

Just got switched on 20/03/07. Have been watching from the side line. Was a bit worried with what some of you have said about SKY & the NETGEARS. But we took the plunge and signed up.

Everything SKY told us, was TRUE , even the activation date. So here I am . We have had NO troble what so ever, hope I'm not talking to soon.

      Take care.

      Shaun.

      Re: Say Hello

Hi again, update, beginning to wonder what I've done! Got letter saying connection on 23.03.07 & router should be here, rang today & they said router posted today, 3-5 days delivery so I said that means it might arrive after my connection date? They said yes, I said is that it, YES, no sorry or anything!
      Will update again.
