      Opinions, Recommendations please...

      Folks,

Seeing as Sky BB don't provide Newsgroup access (sigh!) I have just about accepted that I am going to have to pay for access elsewhere.

Can anybody recommend a good, reliable service (i.e. UsetNEXT, Usenet.com, Grabit,......) please?

Or a free one would be even better!

Also, with my past ISPs I used Newsbin, which tbh I'm not taken with. Has anybody come across anything better?

      Thanks in advance.

I'll check that out, thanks. There's one for my checklist.

What about software tho, as I don't like Newsbin at all.

      Anyone else got any opinions??

If you plan to download a lot every month then giganews is excellent: good completion (99.9%) and good retention (90+ days).

If like me you wouldn't necessarily use a monthly allowance every month then consider prepay from Astraweb. You can pre buy 25gb for about 6 or 90gb for ~14. You then call off against this as you need it - never expires. Completion is also 99.9% but retention is only 25 days.

The best binaries newsreader by far is Grabit (in my experience!).
