      The only reason Giles was picked ahead of Monty is because of his batting abilities. As the Aussies are 341-3 as I post this it looks like we are going to have our work cut out to save the test.

      Not worried yet. Flat pitch perfect for batting, so the current score is to be expected. Couple of quick wickets first thing in the morning would be nice.

      Sadly I agree as there is no way the Aussies will let this slip and unlike last year when England went one test down I can't see the Aussies letting us fight back.

      Have heard odds of 9/1 for a drawn series - that right? coz its worth a flutter.
