      On the gov site it states;
      By law, the vehicle’s registered keeper must be sent a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the alleged speeding offence.

      Lots of information is on the cps site about road traffic offences;

      You have to get nip within 14 days to be prosecuted same as camera ticket. Depending on the police car I would fight it, very few have calibrated speedo's. If he didn't ID you formally at the time or video you he's going to have a very hard time proving anything in court. Personally I would challenge the nip if it comes, ask for all copies of calibration certificates and the cert for in date training of the officer using them. Especially in this case I would also ask for a copy of the forces policy on procedure for stopping a motorist who is "speeding" to see if the officer deviated from procedure and ask why. If he didn't look at my licence or take my name and address do I need to worry.

      I'm sure he already has all that information from anpr, you've just gotta hope you don't get anything nasty in the post for the next 14 days, on the 15th day you can unclench.

      Not sure about that the last one I got was a long time ago and did have a crest stamped on it, it may vary from force to force. As a fellow sufferer I wouldnt waste time worrying, it wont change anything. Speeding aint the end of the world unless you're already on 9 points I guess.

      As you were actually pulled over by an officer I would have expected some paperwork, so don't let it worry you any further.

      You might want to consider the purchase of a dedicated Sat Nav. Even the cheapest ones in Halfords have built-in warning for speed cameras now and most will warn you when you are going over the speed limit.

      Sure phones come with Sat Nax apps, but an up to date dedicated unit can be easier to use.
